User Experience Designer (short summary)

We need an experienced User Experience Designer. Needs to come from background of interaction design, User Interface Design, Information Design, graphic/visual design or related field. BFA preferred.

Would be helpful to have a clue in human cognitive development, like psychology, education, library or information science, and good understanding of new media technology.

Advanced to Expert level CSS2 styling by hand, hand-coding XHTML, Photoshop, Illustrator CS3, Intermediate to Advanced Dreamweaver CS3. Will make wireframes, mockups, as well as skin the site for new features in the product as well as custom skinning for our HiveLive customer communities.

This position will not have to code any PHP and will have to interact with Javascript mostly as a user, not as a coder creating new javascript or AJAX.
Knowledge of the web and its design limitations is essential. Needs to have a design portfolio of websites to show - this is part of the interview.

As usual, needs to be highly communicative, socially apt, jive well with the team, be able to wear lots of hats and do well in a startup environment.

The ideal candidate will be fulltime in-house, but the client may consider a full-time contract position.
